As winter starts to recede, one of the first signs of spring you’ll see in your garden are the vibrant green spikes of daffodils pushing through the soil. Known botanically as Narcissus, daffodils are sometimes referred to as jonquils. For best results, display daffodils in tall, narrow-necked vases to keep the stems upright. By packing sand into a wide vase and creating guide holes with a wooden skewer, you can secure the daffodil stems, ensuring they stay upright and fresh for longer.
